A home chef has revealed how a $35 Kmart product halved her prep time in the kitchen and shaved hundreds of dollars off her grocery bills every year.

The mum has stopped buying pre-grated cheese from the supermarket and instead purchases giant blocks.
1kg of shredded cheese can cost up to $26, while the blocks only set Jade back $14 per unit.
The mum simply cuts a chunk off and places it in the salad maker, and the handy device produces ‘perfectly grated’ cheese in a matter of minutes.

Jade shared a photo of her new Kmart buy along with her freshly grated cheese.
‘My best friend always Kmart-ises me when I see her! I left her farm yesterday and went straight to Kmart to get this great invention!’ she said.
‘My family and I always buy shredded cheese each week, but now I’m hoping I’ll only spend $14 on a block each month and shred it with this great machine.’
While the salad maker can also be used to grate and shred several vegetables, Jade revealed that she would primarily be using it for cheese.
She shared that it was very easy to clean, and that she rinses the product out immediately after use and gets rid of the excess cheese.
