Cheese tasting event a first for Culrain Hall

A tasting event was a first for Culrain & District Hall last Saturday, March 4.

The well-attended event attracted people from as far as Rosehall, Invershin, Ardgay and Bonar Bridge.

Looking its best, the hall was beautifully decorated with tartans and flowers and a wonderful display of cheeses were laid out as a central aisle.

Strahearn Company, Comrie, and Highland Fine Cheeses, Tain, supported the event by supplying a wide selection of cheeses .

Tasting cards were provided on which those attending noted their preference

The event included a quiz and a raffle that raised more than £300 for hall funds.

Hall chairman Graham Charge expressed his gratitude to the sponsors who had made the event possible and hoped that the enthusiasm shown on the night would see some orders placed for their delicious cheeses.

Following the success of this first cheese tasting event it is hoped to hold another next year. The next event to be held in the Culrain & District Hall is a ceilidh on Saturday March 25, with doors open at 7:30pm.
