April saw the start of a summer of chaos at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport with baggage handlers going on strike, leading to long queues and disgruntled passengers at the start of the school holidays.
A group of tourists saw more of Amsterdam than they expected to when the minibus they were in ended up in the Prinsengracht after an attempt to park went wrong. Everyone was pulled to safety
A exclusive by broadcaster NOS which suggested the government was planning to scrap the 30% ruling to save money turned out later in the year to be wrong, but caused a great deal of consternation among readers.
King’s Day was celebrated in the good old fashioned way after two years of coronavirus restrictions, with festivals, street markets and a massive clear up operation afterwards.
And the crime of the month was definitely the theft of 1,600 kilos of cheese from a dairy company.
