He had a stall and display in the garden, where he was able to provide samples of his range of cows and sheep milk cheeses to those attending.
He said: “It was a successful day and worked well for us. It was great to see so many great UK food producers coming together. The range of quality produce on show and for tasting was quite something.”
Mr Darbishire, who attended the event with his two sons Johnny and Archie, said it had been a great commercial opportunity.
“We are always looking to broaden our customer base and many of the big multiple retailers, like the supermarkets, were there.”
Mr Sunak said he had been delighted to invite the Swaledale Cheese Company to the event which featured a selection of producers from across the UK.
“Swaledale Cheese is just one of the great local cheesemakers we have in our area and I was proud to offer the company this opportunity to demonstrate the quality of what they produce in North Yorkshire.”
