Gordon Ramsay gives an unconventional response to fans trolling his grilled cheese recipe
Gordon Ramsay finally responded to criticism of his ‘ultimate grilled cheese’ with a new recipe for a ‘grilled cheese like no other.’
For his redemption sandwich, the celebrity chef, 56, went for a high-octane spin in a supercar while his snack was left on the engine.
It was after his ‘medium rare’ grilled cheese filmed in Tasmania for his Uncharted series was the subject of ridicule three years ago.
Gordon told his TikTok viewers: ‘Last time I made a grilled cheese, you guys absolutely pummeled me.
‘So I’d like to redeem myself and give you a grilled cheese like no other.’
Redemption: Gordon Ramsay finally had another crack at a grilled cheese sandwich, three years on from his artisanal effort getting panned
Meals on wheels: The TV star’s oven of choice was the V12 engine of an Aston Martin Valkyrie
But the ingredients for this sandwich were nothing special – it was the oven which added the wow-factor.
The ‘grill’ of choice was ‘the sexiest oven you’ve ever seen in your entire life’ – the V12, 1200 horse-power engine of an Aston Martin Valkyrie – which he took for a spin to heat the snack through.
He seemed delighted by the outcome, finally managing to produce a grilled cheese in which the key ingredient had melted.
In 2020, his effort was slammed for the luxury cheeses not melting, and the bread being too thickly sliced and burning.
The comments to the clip which was posted to his YouTube channel were not kind, with one saying: ‘My man really managed to cook a medium rare grilled cheese.’
Another said: ‘Impressive that he managed to not only fail to melt the cheese, but also simultaneously burn the bread. Truly the work of a professional.’
But the TV star brushed it off, however, his grilled cheese comeback has left many with raised eyebrows yet again.
