[Music] Foreign [Music] What's up guys we are headed to the Chicago Athletic Association we got Invited to cover this really cool event It's the bacon brunch and Bubbles I love That it's for the James Beard Foundation Nominees we don't really know what we Got going on in here other than bacon Brunch and Bubbles yeah I like those Three things a lot and I like being able To do events yeah so yeah come with us Yeah we're just gonna check it out blind See what we got let's go [Music] Ha This is also low-key like one of our Favorite like places to do stuff yeah Yeah this is amazing I come here all the Time Great Coffee Spot yeah downstairs Yes there's always events down on the First floor we go I go there every Christmas they got this cool Christmas Around this place is just awesome it Looks like an old like what like Sportsman clubs look like in like the 40s we talked about the roof I think the Root Cindy's rooftop is probably one of Like the most go-to bars if you're Staying downtown like on a trip here Stop there for a drink oh yeah gorgeous [Music] [Applause]
Whoa do we start with dessert or end With dessert question let's start with Desserts let's do it backwards look how Gorgeous these are these are beautiful I Definitely want one of the like the Vanilla like it looks like a birthday Cake okay first of all I'm very Intimidated look how nice this uh room Is the White City Ballroom heads up we Haven't done too many ballrooms on the Show but here we go cheers Oh my God there we go start it off Strong Oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] Maybe the most elegant mimosa and Bloody Mary bar it's Stacks it's the type of It's one of those ones where I don't Want to touch anything because it looks Like it looks more like decoration art And practical food yeah I'm a little Worried Foreign [Music] Guys scoped out the location here's what We're gonna do uh we took a look at all The food I'm getting some chicken Waffles I'm gonna fill up my plate with Bacon maybe snag a drink Sean's probably Gonna do the same and then we're gonna Go find a place to film and do a little Uh chicken and waffle bacon slash
Drinking Food review for you guys the Only thing I didn't like that you said Is that would maybe get a drink we are Definitely getting a drink I don't know What he's talking about [Music] [Applause] No [Music] All right guys we just ran into Jessica And got to meet her her Channel her page On Instagram is called lickworthy uh she Does Chicago food stuff and uh we're Gonna tap into this bacon with her so We're kind of this is like a trifecta Food review Right this is our first bite of food of The day I guess cheers I mean we got bacon it's amazing oh it's Got like a little sweet hint to it too Also real quick Pro tip here I tip the Guy when I asked for the Mimosa and then He was like hey uh you want everybody Else in there too give me some vodka in There too so we got a little extra boost On them that's incredible but the bacon With the little Maple oh right yes and It's got the honey yeah marinade so Jessica well you have like a Chicago Restaurant that is like your favorite or A Hidden Gem that people should know About going into summer 2023. it's not a Hidden jump but it is my tried and true Paper it's time job in River North and I
Feel like people just Joe like it's Peruvian so I don't know if people Aren't like into that kind of Cuisine But they have a rooftop they have Bottomless brunch they have everything Like some of my favorite bites ever so That's always like my number one go-to Because you can't go wrong with anything Happy hour like you name it they got it Sounds like I gotta get hip to the Peruvian food I know I don't think I Have that much proof here yeah like you Gotta try it it's so good it's like the Japanese influence it's called Nikkei And it's just so good it's like the best Flavors yeah very light refreshing it's Interesting good if you guys have been Watching the channel we've been talking About underrated genres of foods lately Like how much we like Puerto Rican food In a Chicago surgery for it so Peruvian Is the way to go go follow Lake Worthy On Instagram and say hi to Jessica and Say that Shawna Corey sent you yeah Thanks for being on our little mini oh My God Yeah You know all right even at events we do Corey Wagner's second angles okay so we Obviously got the bacon we've also got This chicken and waffles chicken waffles It's Korean Fried Chicken we've got some Green onions on there uh looks like some Sesame seeds yeah it might be
Um and then there's like a sweet glaze And then also some maple syrup on there Yeah uh looks pretty incredible very Very good excited to try it I stupidly Have not had chicken and waffles in way Too long oh my gosh I probably haven't Had it since we did wake and bacon yeah And it's every time I get it I remember I'm just reminded how it's like kind of The ultimate Savory and sweet option oh Good all right dude cheers Wow whoa I mean this is top of the line Korean Fried Chicken yeah this is on a Different level what's the most Incredible thing about this I mean it's A cafeteria style like they're really Cranking these out yeah it's like the Buffet like kind of thing and it's like Yeah doing them that quick making it This good nice honey nice Maple it's got Some spice to it there's almost like Some it's almost like the flavor of like A chili flake a little bit but you mean Such good chicken and it's chicken Breast and it's still so moist they're The perfect little cute little tiny Waffle oh man this is unreal I'm on Cloud9 dude I love brunch and most of The time I can't afford to go do it Because like brunch with friends turns Into like 60 bucks But here I'm getting invited to these Amazing events I feel cool and it Doesn't hurt my bank account a little
Palette phones with some bacon and Liquor Here's a fun question for you guys start Bench cut waffles pancakes french toast Oh that's great which one's the Alzheimer which ones runner up which one Would you get rid of there's like I Guess like three or four different Stations yeah just for food and then the Mimosa and Bloody Mary station so we Have the executive chef from Brownsville Winery and also the executive chef from Cindy's rooftop which is right up here What we were talking about earlier and Then all the people the folks that work At Chicago Athletic Association they're Providing the help for like making all The food so it's like a lot of great People all working together I basically We're at like an All-Star event it Really This is the food all-star weekend I'm Obsessed that is so good I mean it was a Tough choice to kind of figure out what Food to get but when I see Korean Fried Chicken and Waffles it's uh the choice Became a lot less tough that's taking a Dish that's already so Superior and You're swapping out chicken fried Chicken which is already great and Putting in Korean fried chicken I think It's the adult version now like just Juicing it up if you would I do love That you use like slapping up the
