But in a recent twist, Federal judge let TGI Fridays off the hook, but allowed the case against to continue.

The judge agreed with Joseph that the name of the snack is misleading because it contains no mozzarella cheese, only cheddar.

‘While plaintiff makes wide-ranging allegations in her complaint about TGIF’s role in the creation of the product, the product’s packaging — and the complaint — show that TGI Fridays is only the licensor of the mark,’ wrote Dow on Monday, according to USA Today.

Joseph bought the snacks from Amazon, which have the TGI Fridays logo on the packaging, but discovered from reading the ingredients on the back that no ‘mozzarella’ could be found.

She said she would’ve ‘reasonably’ believed the product contained mozzarella, given the name ‘Mozzarella sticks’, even though the back label specifically states the sticks are only filled with cheddar.
