How does this work?
This week Health Canada is recalling fruit and dairy products, children’s toys, as well as household items including humidifiers, beds, and blinds from stores in Mississauga, Brampton and surrounding areas.
365 Whole Foods Market brand Organic Blackberries (frozen)
The 365 Whole Foods Market brand frozen organic blackberries are impacted by the recall.
The product comes in a 284 gram bag with the UPC code 099482 406059. It has a best if used by date of September 16 2024.
The blackberries are suspected to have been contaminated with the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria
Food that contains Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
Risks: Potential health hazard, particularly to pregnant women and the elderly who have weakened immune systems.
What you should do: If you think you became sick from consuming the recalled product, contact your healthcare provider. It is advised to throw out the item or return it to the place of purchase.
As of June. 25, 2023, there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Black Diamond brand lactose free marble cheddar cheese
The recalled cheese was packaged in a clear plastic container. It came in the 22 grams size with the UPC 0 68200 81171 0 and best before dates September 16 2023.
The lactose free product is being recalled due to undeclared lactose on the label.
Risks: Potential health hazard for those with a lactose intolerance.
What you should do: Do not consume if you have a sensitivity to dairy. The product should be thrown out.
