A cheese product has been recalled from store shelves in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and across Ontario as well as Quebec.
According to the Government of Canada’s website, Igor brand Gorgonzola mild ripened blue-veined cheese has been recalled due to Listeria monocytogenes.
According to the Government of Canada, those who have purchased this product are advised not to consume, use, sell, serve or distribute it.
The product was sold in packages of 350 grams with a best-before date of Feb. 1, 2023.
“Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” reads the Government of Canada’s website.
“Symptoms may include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.”
Anyone who believes they may have gotten sick from eating the recalled cheese product should contact their doctor or healthcare provider.
