Cheese and wine shop to launch new local artisan market TODAY in Bucks

Local venison, heritage-grain bread and British flowers are among the produce on offer in a new market opening today (March 11).

Cheesemonger and wine shop , based in Aylesbury, is holding its first artisan market on Stokenchurch Common this Saturday, March 11.

Owner of , , said: “Above all, we aim to be sustainable and artisan with the origins of our products and to keep a low carbon footprint.

“We’re really excited to bring our artisan market to Stokenchurch and we’re hoping everybody in the area comes out to see us.”

Among around 16 traders is  The Rockery, the award-winning and Wild Kite Bottleshop, a craft beer provider from Great Missenden.

Crafts vendors will also be manning stalls at the market, with a range of specialty gifts available just in time for Mother’s Day next weekend.

James added that a focus of the deli shop’s market events, which have previously taken residence in Henley, and Chiswick among others, is promoting local, good-quality produce.

The artisan market will, of course, also be sticking to No. 2 Pound Street’s roots by championing well-sourced heritage bread from a bakery in Tring alongside a range of British cheeses.

The Stokenchurch market will continue to run after Saturday, March 11, on the second Saturday of every month until December.

In an effort to draw attention to the artisan offerings, No. 2 Pound Street teamed up with the Scorpion Explorer Scout group in Stokenchurch yesterday to hand out leaflets and spread word around the community.
