In Thailand, international fast-food chain Burger King has sent curiosities soaring with the latest addition to its menu: A burger with nothing between the buns other than 20 slices of cheese.
The brand has been dubbed the creation “The Real Cheese Burger”, and was launched at outlets on July 10, 2023 to much ado amongst Thai netizens, many of whom immediately took to social media platforms to showcase the new sandwich.
On its own social media pages, Burger King said that the new item “was no joke”, and many consequently took the provocative accompanying visual of a excessively cheesy burger as a sign to go out and grab one for themselves.
According to reports, one outlet in Bangkok even had to turn down delivery orders in order to prevent itself from running out of stock for walk-in orders.
Across platforms like Twitter and TikTok, those who have tried the burger have mostly returned with the same verdict: It was all just a little too much.

Now we can forgive Burger King for having to deal with fierce competition and a growing demand for novelty. It’s no secret that other brands have resorted to outrageous concoctions to capture consumers’ attention in the past.
