The Ohio State Fair recently announced its 2023 cheese contest winners, and one Cincinnati cheesemaker made the cut. Urban Stead Cheese in Evanston received the overall reserve champion award for its aged cheddar cheese at the statewide contest.

The local cheesemaker also took second place for its young cheddar cheese. Pearl Valley Cheese in took top honors, receiving the overall grand champion award for its Swiss cheese.

According to a press release, there were 63 entries from cheesemakers across the state. American Dairy Association Mideast, which coordinated the event, selected the winners.
