Cheese company targets expansion with brand refresh

A Nantwich-based producer has undergone a brand refresh as it looks to expand its markets, following its acquisition by a family-run counterpart last year.

The Cheshire Company has unveiled new packaging that has been developed to support its plans to grow across both UK and international markets.

The small producer is now in a strong position after being acquired by Joseph Heler last year.

As part of the brand refresh, the range has been revamped to include 13 flavours in two collections such as The Traditional Collection, which includes its signature Black Bob Mature Cheddar.

Founder and managing director Simon Spurrell said: “The last year has been perhaps the most exciting for us in our 12-year history. Having been majority acquired by Joseph Heler Ltd in 2022, we have so much scope to develop in ways we only dreamed of previously.

“The improved range each bears new names, fitting of the contemporary new look and of course carefully crafted flavours. We hope the new look products are well received by our trade and consumer customers alike and that people continue to enjoy our premium cheeses in the UK and overseas.”

George Heler, managing director of Joseph Heler Ltd, added: “The Cheshire Company’s new look is a pivotal step in our strategy to prepare it for reentry into Europe. We’ve increased the shelf appeal of the products and brought the line up to date while maintaining its quality look and feel. We’re really looking forward to getting it out there in June.”
