Aldi launches first vegan cheese board, including plant-based brie

Plant-based brie, vegan cheddar, and fruity Wensleydale are among the dairy-free delights offered by Aldi on its board

Aldi is set to launch its first vegan board for Christmas – and it features plant-based brie.

The board, which costs £3.99, is part of Aldi’s vegan Christmas range, which it says it expanded to accommodate the growing interest in animal-free Christmas options.

-lovers will be able to get their hands on the vegan board, which features vegan cheddar and fruity wensleydale alongside plant-based brie, from 9th December.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Aldi said: “It doesn’t get much better than this!… This platter is made from coconut oil-based cheese alternatives – meaning cheese boards can now be enjoyed by all!

“Pair with fruit and crackers for a deliciously indulgent seasonal treat.”

In a statement, the supermarket said: “Aldi has increased its vegan range this year after seeing sales rocket in 2021, ensuring there’s a festive feast fit for everyone this Christmas.”

Its 2022 festive line-up boasts old favourites, alongside new classics.

One of the dishes that’s back by popular demand is Aldi’s Plant Menu No Turkey Roast (£4.99). This festive centrepiece is a soya-based roast filled with jewelled cranberry and chestnut stuffing, and topped with strips of vegan bacon and a bay leaf.

A selection of sweets will also be available, including its Moser Roth Vegan Truffles, which return in salted caramel, and in a brand new flavour, caramelised biscuit.

Meanwhile, new savoury options for 2022 alongside its vegan cheese board include its Specially Selected No Beef Wellington, Plant Menu No Chicken, No Pork and No Fish Bites, and Plant Menu Cauliflower Popcorn and…
